Guild Wars 2: The winter and its startup problems - community responses appropriate?
The winter is in Guild Wars 2 at the moment and until 03.01.2013 at full speed. Around the supposed launch date but there was some misunderstanding and resentment among the gw2 gold player base. What exactly happened and how I feel about the whole issue, I would like to focus on it in this article.
A review
I'm actually a very patient person, but it happened last Friday at Guild Wars 2 for the first time that I was a bit annoyed. What had happened? Me and a good friend had arranged for winter and we wanted to watch the event on Friday, as it on the other days did not have time. We remember back: The winter should start on 14.12.2012. As it turned out later, was asked to but the American 14.12. meant and not the European.
This is indeed very strange. I am still of the opinion that because something has gone wrong. ArenaNet had for from 15.12. for stopovers of Tixx stated all data in European time. Only on 14.12. Should start where the event should the U.S. time zone apply? Especially interesting is the post that you get in the Guild Wars 2 gold game, because there are all the times and days listed for Europe. And look, there is also the issue of 14 as the starting day in Europe and the 15th as the first day for the appearance of Tixx.
Quiet Christmas? Hardly ...
In short, just as I felt the many other players in Europe too: They felt ignored. That you can not be happy about it must, I understand. But then what was going on in the official forum, but I feel as grossly exaggerated.
The players began to curse ArenaNet, as if the developers would have the community has to date only kidding and Ramon Domke, the German Community Manager, got his fat away:
And then you still get the German forum of your "community manager" a response that I would have the crystal ball can give. Sorry that's pathetic, poor style and absolutely hostile community and nothing else.
That's just so ridiculous. Has simply learned nothing from Halloween. Makes only continue churning out your errors and trample around on your community. Sometime also gets you your receipt ...
I believe that such a thing has not been (there was even worse posts, but these were removed). As I said, happy to be on the playing with the time and the wording is not quite sure. Rumzupöbeln but as sch ... lecht but everyone at ArenaNet is, I find it impossible.
ArenaNet is doing in my eyes as anyone possibly to every player goes as far as to satisfy. Nevertheless, the smallest mistake immediately brought out the torches and pitchforks, and the forum tidy wheel made. Strangely, now everything is back to become quiet in the forums. Everyone is happy and most certainly provide just an icy snowball fight. Maybe we should be a bit more relaxed, especially at Christmas time ...
For my part I wish you and ArenaNet relaxed and happy Christmas!
